Mission Statement
As Chief Executive Officer of the City, the Mayor’s mission is to serve Peabody with strong, transparent leadership. The Mayor develops and implements a clear, strategic vision for the City that benefits taxpayers, making Peabody an ideal place to live, learn, visit, and do business. Overseeing the City’s budget, the Mayor exercises fiscal responsibility to fund the City’s needs. Serving as Chairperson ex-officio of the School Committee, the Mayor promotes a thriving, equitable, and inclusive school system. The mission of the Mayor’s Office is to serve the City of Peabody through support of the Mayor’s responsibilities. The Mayor’s Office provides executive and administrative oversight and acts as a liaison between City government and Peabody’s taxpayers. The Mayor’s staff provides administrative support, public outreach, constituent services, and manages special projects and events.

- Job Description:
- Serves as the senior advisor and principal aide to the Mayor, overseeing internal operations, executive communications, strategic initiatives, and staff coordination within the Mayor’s Office. The position ensures the efficient functioning of the office, supports policy and procedural implementation, and enhances communication between the Mayor, City departments, and external stakeholders.

- Directs day to day operations and staff of the Mayor’s Office.
- Serves as primary liaison between the Mayor’s Office and City Council, legislative delegations, and City departments.
- Leads executive communications, including messaging, public statements, written materials, and strategic communication planning.

- Supports policy development, research, and implementation of the Mayor’s initiatives.

- Job Description:
- Serves as the office manager for the Mayor’s Office. Oversees day-to-day operations, handles expenses, supply acquisition, scheduling, filing, and other administrative duties.
- Core Responsibilities
- Manages office operations and procedures for the Mayor’s Office.
- Maintains all files and accounts for the Mayor’s Office, including, but not limited to, correspondence, contact databases, fiscal records, requisitions, purchase orders, invoices, expense tracking, and account reconciliation.
- Responsible for payroll tracking, calendar tracking, scheduling, and other administrative responsibilities related to the staffing of the Mayor’s Office.
- Under the Mayor’s leadership, responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing community activities and events.
- Greets constituents, receives and responds to phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries directed to City Hall.
- Assesses the appropriate course of action for each inquiry, researches the issues involved, consults pertinent internal department personnel, coordinates action taken, and communicates the resolution to the appropriate parties on behalf of the Mayor.
- Provides outstanding internal and external constituent and customer service.
- Maintains and updates the Mayor’s calendar; coordinates and confirms the Mayor’s meetings, appointments, speaking engagements, social engagements, and participation in community events.
